Being the classic in the city of the gorge, Tajo, Polo Hotel has been the favourite place for travellers during the past 30 years. The Puya brothers who run the hotel as family business have renewed thoroughly the entire installation of the hotel, modernizing the infrastructure for better quality and equipment in the bedrooms and for more security in general.
The first and most significant image of Hotel Polo is its spectacular facade. The facade is simple but elegant where the tall stoned windows with cierros, decorative wrought iron work, stand out.
This is a family-run establishment and staff are friendly and efficient. Local events, including music and theatre - there is always something going on in Ronda, are posted up in Reception. Nearby are the historic bullring, with gardens to the rear, the spectacular gorge bridged by the Puente Nuevo, the House of the Moorish King, museums and galleries, excellent shopping facilities and a wide range of bars and restaurants.
The elegant line of the façade is repeated also inside. The cafeteria is situated in a magnificent salon with marble floors and high ceiling, where not only the tourists but also the local public enjoys their afternoons. Its renewed restaurant is the latest venture. |

Polo Hotel is right in the centre of Ronda, only 2-3 minutes walk from the gorge, Tajo with its impressive view and only a couple of blocks away from one of Spain’s oldest bull-ring.
Ronda is well-known for its pottery, leatherwork and wrought-ironwork and its well-preserved public buildings, convents, bridges and arches. In the old part of town is the beautiful and shady Plaza Duquesa de Parcent. This was the main square during the Arab domination, when it housed the Mosque, market, jail and castle. "Hotel Polo" itself backs onto one of the city's landmark historical buildings "El Casino."
